Taylor Wins the Georgia PGA Professional Championship

Puterbaugh, Skinner, Owen, Miller and Spratlin Also Qualify

Phil Taylor, PGA director of golf at Ansley Golf Club in Atlanta carded a three-over par round of 75 for a championship total of two-over par 146 to win the Georgia PGA’s Professional Championship held at The Legends at Chateau Elan. It was Taylor’s first victory in a Georgia Section event since the 2002 Atlanta Open.

Keppler Captures Georgia Senior PGA Professional Title

Stephen Keppler of Marietta Country Club won the Georgia Senior PGA Professional Championship today at Ansley Golf Club’s Settindown Creek Course and will lead 10 Section PGA Professionals to compete Nov. 13-16, in the 26th Senior PGA Professional National Championship.

Georgia’s Ray Cutright Heads 2014 PGA National Award Recipients as PGA Golf Professional of the Year

PGA Master Professional Ray Cutright, in his 21st season at Idle Hour Club in Macon, Georgia, has been named the 2014 PGA Golf Professional of the Year, the highest annual honor bestowed upon a PGA of America Professional.

Cutright, 63, a resident of Macon, heads the 2014 PGA of America national award class that will be honored in a ceremony, Thursday, Nov. 20, in conjunction with the 98th PGA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis.

"The passion, talent and skill of this year's national award class reflect what all PGA Professionals strive to deliver on a daily business in their respective golf facilities nationwide," said PGA President Ted Bishop. "Our award recipients are PGA Professionals who make a difference in people's lives. We are proud that they are now the toast of our industry."

Cutright is the 60th recipient of the PGA Golf Professional of the Year Award, and the fourth member of the Georgia PGA Section to receive this honor, following John Gerring (1981), Dick Murphy (1994) and Ed Hoard (1999).

Dixon Captures the Georgia PGA Match Play Championship

Teaching PGA Professional Brian Dixon of Legacy Golf Links in Smyrna won two matches to capture his second title in the Georgia PGA Match Play Championship which was conducted at the historic Peachtree Golf Club. Dixon won the event previously in 1997.
